Product Description

For nearly a century, the words and works of Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc., have translated into proven success -- a claim verified by millions of satisfied graduates; a perpetual 3,000-plus enrollment roster per week; and book sales, including the mega-bestseller How to Win Friends and Influence People, totaling over thirty million copies.

Now, in The Leader In You, coauthors Stuart R. Levine and Michael A. Crom apply the famed organization's time-tested human relations principles to demonstrate how anyone, regardless of his or her job, can harness creativity and enthusiasm to work more productively -- 1990s style.

With insights from leading figures in the corporate, entertainment, sports, academic, and political arenas -- and encompassing interviews and advice from such eminent authorities as Lee Iacocca and Margaret Thatcher -- this comprehensive, step-by-step guide includes strategies to help you:

  • Identify your leadership strengths

  • Achieve your goals and increase your self-confidence

  • Eliminate an "us vs. them" mentality

  • Become a team player and strengthen cooperation among associates

  • Balance work and leisure

  • Control your worries and energize your life

And much more!

The most important investment you will ever make is in yourself -- once you discover the key that unlocks The Leader In You.

Amazon.com Review

Despite the wealth of technical advances in the 1990s workplace, managing, motivating, and communicating remains a challenge. The Leader in You adapts the simple, time-tested management theories of Dale Carnegie to this high-tech environment with refreshing results. Read in an engaging but direct tone, the tape's pace is varied with excerpts from recent management studies and anecdotes from contemporary business leaders. It's a sound introduction to leadership skills for anyone working in the public, private, or nonprofit sector. (Running time: 1.5 hours, one cassette) --Sharon Griggins

Took awhile to get it..        Rating:

Even email gotten from here stipulated that it would have taken up to 2 weeks or more, I think it is ridiculous that it did take a while to come. It's 2010, it shouldn't be like that. That makes people not want to buy stuff. That's why I only buy once in a while and only if other people want me to buy stuff for them; which what this book was for.

Excellent training from a management standpoint.        Rating:

Great for motivation. Very inspiring. An excellent training book from a management standpoint. A great foundation for success. Great in conjunction with "How to win friends and influence people." I highly recommend.

Road To Recovery        Rating:

This book gives the reader the ability to self annalize and discover hidden intangable assets within the readers mind. This book opens up a new world of positive points of view for all to understand. Every page is like a new beginning. Thank you, Sebastiana Williams

An Average Rewrite of Some of Carnegie's Original Principles        Rating:

I am always leery when an organization uses the namesake of a best selling author in an attempt to recreate his/her prior success. The Leader in You did little to quell this feeling as it adds no new content and is without any of the masterful skill of articulation that Carnegie was so well known for.

The Leader in You is not without its value as many of the innovative principles Carnegie produced in his original works are evident within this book. However, why would one choose a secondary attempt by less qualified authors when the opportunity to read from the originals is available? I highly recommend picking up Carnegie's "How to Win Friends & Influence People" and passing on this particular book.
